The wood grain is beautifully visible, lending each spurtle a unique appearance. Its handle is designed for a comfortable grip, and the entire piece has a smooth, polished finish that feels pleasing in the hand. This wooden spurtle is more than just a kitchen utensil, it's a piece of culinary history brought to life.

The spurtle is a Scottish stirrer, traditionally used for porridge. This utensil, has been used in cooking, since the 1500 century. Spurtles Can also be used for soup, custard, broths, even baked beans. The rod shape means the porridge can be stirred without forming lumps and congealing, unlike a spoon which has a dragging affect. Traditional spurtles have a carved thistle at the top. Our spurtles are from beech wood. Average size 20cm long and under 25mm width, so they fit in a large letter. Get your morning off to a great start with our porridge spurtle – a little more warming than cereal and even more delicious.
