Wool carders 108TPI

 Our carders have the simple classic design. Enabling the carding action to be completed, with ease. Hand carders are an essential part of any spinner or felting tool kit. The base of the carders is made from birch ply, for strength. The handles are individually hand turned in Dark Oak, then fitted on an angle allowing a comfortable grip, with the users hand. The design allows a good surface to surface contact, when in use. Carding needs the wire to be flexible, the fabric and rubber backing allows the movement of the wire. This combined with the knee bend on each wire works on the individual fibres to tease them out and align them without stressing and breaking the fibres. 108-point cloth is for finer fibre. Such as Alpaca, silk and cashmere.

 20cmx10cm carder size. With a 15cm hand turned Oak wood handle. The pin area is 18cmx8.5cm, the standard size of other brands.

Pads are red at the moment. All our items are handmade in Lincolnshire. Our timber comes from sustainable forests and local suppliers. Our products are eco-friendly.
